ETHDenver by the numbers
Every figure links to where it came from. Attendance for an event that has not happened is a projection, and each row says so rather than presenting it as a count.

What is ETHDenver?
ETHDenver is a community Ethereum week in Denver, run with SporkDAO, built around a hackathon rather than a sales floor. The last published official edition was 18 to 21 February 2026 at the National Western Center, with Camp BUIDL in front of it. Late February 2027 is the expected window. It is not confirmed on the official homepage the way CES 2027 is confirmed on ces.tech.
Who goes to ETHDenver?
Builders, hackathon teams, and the funds that sponsor them. If you need a suit-and-badge institutional room, Signal Week or TOKEN2049 is the better comparison. If you need people who write the code, this is the week. Community tickets have historically been free. That changes the room.
ETHDenver side events
Search ETHDenver side event and you will find what used to be the most documented side-event scene in Ethereum, and a 2026 collapse in it. Registered side events fell from 668 in 2025 to roughly 215 in 2026, about 68 per cent. A January 2026 piece had forecast a cut of over 80 per cent, which turned out too steep, and no official ETHDenver statement confirmed either number. Reported causes were tighter marketing budgets, Lunar New Year timing hitting Asian attendance, competing events and visa problems. Start with the official schedule on ethdenver.com and treat leftover Luma nights as extra. Aspire does not run those nights.
ETHDenver tickets and costs
Watch ethdenver.com for 2027. General admission to the main event is generally free and works by application rather than by checkout, which is unusual at this scale and is the community-funded model working as intended. Paid VIP and SporkWhale passes sit above it for enhanced access. Apply early: an application is a queue, not a transaction, and leaving it late is how people miss a free ticket. Do not buy travel on an aggregator date alone. Recent venues have been the National Western Center and Stockyards. February in Denver is snow. Stay in RiNo or near the venue. The mountain retreat after the main days is a separate ticket and a separate trip.
- General admissionFree, by application
The main event is generally free to attend, but you apply through the official site rather than buying a ticket. Apply early; it is a queue rather than a checkout. ETHDenver
- VIP and SporkWhalePaid, price not published
Upgrade passes for enhanced access, sold above the free general admission. Prices were not published on ethdenver.com when this entry was last checked. ETHDenver
Getting to National Western Center
The National Western Center is north-east of downtown Denver, reachable on the RTD N line to National Western Center station or a short ride from downtown. Denver International is a long way out; the A line to Union Station takes about 37 minutes and is the reliable option in February when the roads are not.
Where to stay for ETHDenver
RiNo is the usual answer: close to the venue, walkable to most of the evening programme, and where the side events cluster. Downtown around Union Station works and puts you on the airport train. February in Denver is snow and altitude, both of which catch people out, so proximity is worth paying for.
What to know before booking ETHDenver
The honest page is the official one, and it was still on 2026 when last checked. If you are reading this after they publish 2027, use their dates. The side-event cut, if it holds, is the thing that changes the week more than the venue.
What runs alongside ETHDenver
Named events on their own dates, and in several cases their own tickets. Booking the main days only is how people miss them.
- Camp BUIDLAhead of the main event, mid-February
The hackathon build days that run before the main event. In 2026 they ran 15 to 17 February. Confirm the 2027 dates on the official site rather than assuming the same offset.
ETHDenver: common questions
When is ETHDenver 2027?
Not confirmed by the organiser. Secondary listings carry 17 to 21 February 2027, and ethdenver.com was still publishing the 2026 edition when this entry was last checked. Late February is the expected window, but do not buy flights against an aggregator date.
Is ETHDenver free?
General admission to the main event is generally free, but it is not a checkout. You apply rather than buy, and admission is granted rather than purchased. Paid VIP and SporkWhale passes exist on top for enhanced access. The real cost of attending is travel and February accommodation, not the badge.
What is Camp BUIDL?
The hackathon build days that run ahead of the main event. In 2026 they ran 15 to 17 February, before the 18 to 21 February main days. Devices, teams and most of the actual building happen there rather than in the keynote hall.
Are ETHDenver side events being cut?
They already were. Registered side events fell from 668 in 2025 to roughly 215 in 2026, about 68 per cent down. A January 2026 piece forecast over 80 per cent, which proved too steep, and ETHDenver never confirmed either figure. Reported causes: tighter marketing budgets, Lunar New Year timing, competing events and visa problems.
Where is ETHDenver held?
Recent editions have used the National Western Center and the Stockyards, north-east of downtown Denver, reachable on the RTD N line. The venue has moved between editions before, so confirm it for the year you are attending rather than assuming continuity.
Is ETHDenver good for fundraising?
Better than Devcon and worse than TOKEN2049. The funds that invest at pre-seed and seed in crypto attend, and much of that conversation happens at the satellite events rather than in the venue. If you want institutional business development, this is not that week.
What is the mountain retreat?
A separate event after the main days, on a separate ticket, in the mountains rather than in Denver. In 2026 it ran 22 to 27 February. It is a different trip with different logistics, not an extension of the conference, and it needs planning as one.
