CES by the numbers

Every figure links to where it came from. Attendance for an event that has not happened is a projection, and each row says so rather than presenting it as a count.

What is CES?

CES is the Consumer Technology Association's show in Las Vegas. The 2027 edition is 6 to 9 January at the Las Vegas Convention Center and overflow venues. It is a hardware and consumer-tech launch week. CES 2026 drew an audited 148,392 people, its third consecutive year of growth, which is worth knowing against the assumption that the big trade shows are shrinking. Registration notification for 2027 was already up on the official site when last checked.

Who goes to CES?

Press, buyers, and exhibitors. Startups sit in Eureka Park, which is a different hall and a different ticket problem from the big brands. If you came to raise from crypto funds, this is the wrong January. If you came to see what will be on the shelf, it is the right one.

CES side events

Search CES side event or CES unofficial party and you will find a second show: hotel suites, vendor receptions and off-Strip nights that are not on ces.tech. They are posted on Luma, on company pages and in the annual unofficial party lists the tech press republishes every December. Official CES networking is on-site. The useful ones for smaller companies are often in hotels, not in the LVCC aisle. Aspire does not run those nights.

CES tickets and costs

Register on ces.tech. A Standard Pass is 149 dollars through 30 November and 349 after; Premium is 1,450 through 30 November and 1,750 after. Eureka Park is covered by either, so no second badge is needed. Hotels are through onPeak if you want the official block. January in Las Vegas is cold at night and the LVCC is not one building. Budget shuttle time. Press and exhibitor badges are not interchangeable. Eureka Park has its own rules. Confirm which badge you actually hold before you promise a meeting in a hall you cannot enter.

  • Standard Pass, early$149

Through 30 November 2026, then $349. Covers the exhibit floor, keynotes and selected sessions. Trade only: you need an industry affiliation and you must be 18 or over. CES

  • Premium Pass, early$1,450

Through 30 November 2026, then $1,750. Adds the full conference tracks on top of everything in the Standard Pass. CES

Getting to Las Vegas Convention Center

The Las Vegas Convention Center is the anchor but CES is not one building. Sessions and meetings spill into the Venetian, Aria and hotel suites along the Strip. The LVCC Loop moves people between the convention centre halls; getting between the LVCC and the Strip venues at midday is slow enough that most people plan one venue per day.

Where to stay for CES

Book through onPeak, the official housing agent, or accept that you are dealing with a reseller. CES hotel fraud is a recurring problem and the unofficial housing bureaus that email exhibitors every autumn are not affiliated with the show. Prices rise the later you book, and early January in Las Vegas is set by CES rather than by tourism.

What to know before booking CES

CES is larger than the Convention Center. Meetings at Venetian, Aria and random suites are normal. Do not schedule six on-site meetings an hour apart across halls. The floor launches are the show. The side events are where the quieter conversations go.

What runs alongside CES

Named events on their own dates, and in several cases their own tickets. Booking the main days only is how people miss them.

  • Eureka Park6 to 9 January 2027

The startup hall, physically separate from the main exhibit floors and with its own exhibitor rules. Where national delegations and early-stage companies show.

CES: common questions

How much is a CES badge?

A Standard Pass is $149 through 30 November 2026 and $349 after, covering the exhibit floor, keynotes and selected sessions. A Premium Pass is $1,450 through 30 November and $1,750 after, adding the full conference tracks. Both are trade-only and 18 or over.

CES

When is CES 2027?

6 to 9 January 2027 in Las Vegas, with the Las Vegas Convention Center as the anchor venue and partner venues along the Strip. The Consumer Technology Association publishes future dates on its own site, and CES 2028 is listed for 11 to 14 January.

About CES

Is CES open to the public?

No. CES is a trade-only show despite the consumer name, restricted to industry professionals and press, and attendees must be 18 or over. A consumer-electronics enthusiast without an industry affiliation cannot buy a badge, which surprises a lot of people every January.

CES

How do I book a hotel for CES?

Through onPeak, the official housing agent named by CTA. Unofficial housing bureaus contact exhibitors every year offering rooms they do not hold, and this is a well-documented recurring scam. If the offer arrived by cold email, it is not the official block.

CES

What is Eureka Park?

The startup hall, where early-stage companies and national delegations show. It is part of the main show and needs no separate badge beyond your CES pass, but it sits away from the main exhibit floors with its own hours, so treat it as its own visit rather than another aisle.

How many people attend CES?

148,392 at CES 2026, independently audited, up 4 per cent on 142,465 in 2025 and 138,789 in 2024. CES has grown three years running. Exhibitors numbered over 4,100 in 2026 against over 4,500 in 2025, so attendance and exhibitor counts are not moving together.

CES 2026 audit

When is CES 2028?

11 to 14 January 2028, published on CTA's own future-dates list. Worth knowing a year early: Las Vegas hotel inventory for CES week is booked further out than for almost any other conference, and the price only moves in one direction.

About CES

Is CES worth attending in person?

Nothing at CES needs to be seen in person to be reported on, and the launches are covered everywhere within hours. The reason to go is meeting density: for four days almost every buyer and supplier in consumer technology is within two miles of each other. Judge the trip on your diary.
