Web Summit by the numbers

Every figure links to where it came from. Attendance for an event that has not happened is a projection, and each row says so rather than presenting it as a count.

What is Web Summit?

Web Summit is Lisbon's large generalist tech conference. The 2026 edition returns to MEO Arena and FIL on 9 to 12 November. The official site leads on 70,000-plus people. That is a marketing figure, but it matches the scale Wikipedia records for recent Lisbon editions. It is a broad room: founders, press, governments and a lot of people who came for the brand.

Who goes to Web Summit?

A mixed European tech crowd, heavier on startups and media than on protocol engineers. If you need Ethereum client teams, Devcon the week before in Mumbai is the better ticket. If you need a dense calendar of random meetings in one building, this is that. Opening night on 9 November is part of the programme, not an optional extra.

Web Summit side events

Search Web Summit side event or Web Summit Lisbon party and you will find independent lists that, in past years, ran to several dozen nights between late October and the closing day. They are not on websummit.com. They appear on Luma, on national-pavilion calendars and on company pages. Parque das Nacoes and the city centre both fill. There is no single official side-event sheet. Treat last year's published lists as a pattern, not as this year's grid. Aspire does not run those nights.

Web Summit tickets and costs

Tickets are on websummit.com. The venue page names MEO Arena and FIL at Rossio dos Olivais. Metro to Oriente or a walk from the park hotels is the usual path. Stay in Parque das Nacoes if you can pay for it. Stay in the centre and budget the metro if you cannot. November in Lisbon is mild and wet.

  • General attendeeEUR 630 before tax

About EUR 775 once Portugal's 23 per cent IVA is added, which is the figure the ticket page shows. Prices step up toward the event. Web Summit tickets

  • VIPEUR 1,585 before tax

Chairperson and executive tiers run into several thousand above this. Web Summit tickets

  • Startup package, ALPHA or BETADiscounted, by application

Gated by company stage rather than simply cheaper, and bundles exhibition time a general ticket does not include. Check eligibility before budgeting against the general price. Web Summit tickets

Getting to MEO Arena and FIL

The venue is MEO Arena and FIL at Rossio dos Olivais in Parque das Nacoes. Metro red line to Oriente, then a short walk. Oriente is also the mainline station, so arriving by train from the airport or from Porto drops you effectively at the door. Taxis and rideshare queue badly at closing.

Where to stay for Web Summit

Parque das Nacoes is walking distance and prices like it. Central Lisbon, Baixa through to Avenida, is fifteen to twenty minutes on the red line and is where the side events cluster. Across the river in Almada is the standard answer when the city sells out, which it does. Book before the speaker list is published.

What to know before booking Web Summit

The floor is loud and the meetings you want are often in the side week, not in the aisle. Book those before you land. The official schedule publishes talks in waves. Do not fly only for a name that is still marked coming soon.

What runs alongside Web Summit

Named events on their own dates, and in several cases their own tickets. Booking the main days only is how people miss them.

  • Opening night9 November 2026

Centre Stage from 18:00 on the Monday. Part of the programme rather than an optional extra, and the reason a Tuesday arrival misses a chunk of the event.

Web Summit: common questions

How much are Web Summit tickets?

EUR 630 before tax for a general attendee ticket, which is about EUR 775 once Portugal's 23 per cent IVA is added. VIP is EUR 1,585 before tax and chairperson tiers run into several thousand. Prices climb toward the event, so booking late costs materially more.

Who qualifies for a Web Summit startup ticket?

Startup packages are gated by company stage and funding rather than simply being a cheaper ticket, and they bundle exhibition time that a general attendee ticket does not include. Eligibility is set by Web Summit and worth checking before assuming the general price is your price.

When does Web Summit 2026 start?

9 to 12 November 2026, with opening night on Centre Stage from 18:00 on the Monday. The opening evening is part of the programme rather than a warm-up, so arriving on Tuesday morning means starting a day behind everybody else.

Web Summit

Where are the Web Summit side events?

Spread across Lisbon rather than at the venue, and not listed on websummit.com. They appear on Luma, on national pavilion calendars and on company pages, and in past years have run from late October through to the closing day. Treat last year's lists as a pattern, not a schedule.

How many people attend Web Summit?

71,386 in 2025, against 71,528 in 2024. Flat at the headline, but the room changed: investors rose 74 per cent to 1,857 while exhibiting startups fell from 3,050 to 2,725. If you are going to meet investors that is a better trend than the total suggests.

Web Summit tickets

Is Web Summit worth it?

It is worth it if you arrive with a diary. At 70,000 people the floor is too loud and too large to work by wandering, the talks are recorded, and the value sits almost entirely in pre-booked meetings and the side-event calendar. Turn up cold and four days will pass.

How do I get to the venue?

Metro red line to Oriente, then walk. The venue is MEO Arena and FIL at Rossio dos Olivais in Parque das Nacoes. Oriente is also the mainline rail station, so trains from the airport or from Porto arrive effectively at the door.
