re:Invent by the numbers

Every figure links to where it came from. Attendance for an event that has not happened is a projection, and each row says so rather than presenting it as a count.

What is re:Invent?

re:Invent is Amazon Web Services' annual cloud and AI conference in Las Vegas. The 2026 dates are 30 November to 4 December. The official page leads on 60,000-plus attendees. Sessions run across multiple Strip properties. It is a training and product-launch week for people who already buy AWS, not a general startup fair.

Who goes to re:Invent?

Cloud architects, partner companies, and the vendors who sell into that stack. If you do not work on or sell around AWS, the week is mostly noise. If you do, the catalogue is the reason to go, and it is too large to walk without a plan. Sunday 29 November is badge pickup, not the first keynote.

re:Invent side events

Search AWS re:Invent side event and you will find a second conference made of vendor parties, happy hours and off-Strip dinners, none of them run by AWS. They appear on Luma, on company pages and in the community planners that sit beside the official catalogue. The official agenda already includes AWS networking slots. The unofficial ones fill Venetian, Caesars and anywhere a shuttle can reach. There is no single official side-event sheet. Book the nights you care about before you land. Aspire does not run those nights.

re:Invent tickets and costs

Register on the AWS events site. The full conference pass is 1,299 dollars through 25 August 2026 and 2,499 dollars after, so the early-bird window is worth 1,200 dollars per person and ten or more passes in one transaction takes another 10 per cent off on top. Stay on the Strip properties AWS is actually using this year. Mandalay Bay was reported out of the 2026 rotation, with Caesars in. Confirm the venue list on the official page before you book a hotel that is no longer on a shuttle. Walking between venues at peak is the hidden cost.

  • Full conference pass, early bird$1,299

Available through 25 August 2026, 23:59 PDT. After that the same pass is $2,499, so the early-bird window is worth $1,200. Ten or more in one transaction takes a further 10 per cent off, which stacks with early bird. AWS re:Invent

  • Full conference pass, standard$2,499

From 26 August 2026. One pass covers keynotes, sessions, labs, the expo and re:Play. Attendees must be 18 or over. AWS re:Invent

  • re:Play guest add-on$350

Only needed to bring somebody who does not hold a conference pass. re:Play itself is included in the full pass. AWS re:Invent

Getting to Las Vegas Strip venues

There is no single venue. Sessions run across several Strip properties and AWS runs shuttles between the ones it is using that year. Budget twenty to forty minutes between venues once shuttles, casino floors and lifts are counted, which is considerably more than the map implies. Harry Reid airport to the Strip is fifteen minutes outside peak.

Where to stay for re:Invent

Stay in a property AWS is actually using this year, or on its shuttle route. Mandalay Bay was reported out of the 2026 rotation and Caesars in, so a hotel booked from memory of a previous year can leave you off the network entirely. Confirm the venue list on the official page before booking anything.

What to know before booking re:Invent

You cannot attend 2,000 sessions. Pick a track. Most breakouts are recorded. The meetings that are not recorded are the vendor side events and the hallway. Budget feet, not optimism. Las Vegas in early December is cold at night on the Strip.

What runs alongside re:Invent

Named events on their own dates, and in several cases their own tickets. Booking the main days only is how people miss them.

  • Badge pickup29 November 2026

Sunday help desk from 07:00, the day before the first keynote. Arriving Monday morning means queueing for a badge instead of attending a session.

re:Invent: common questions

When is AWS re:Invent 2026?

30 November to 4 December 2026 across Las Vegas. Badge pickup opens on Sunday 29 November from 07:00, so the practical arrival day is the Sunday rather than the Monday if you want to start the week in a session rather than in a queue.

AWS re:Invent agenda

Which venues does re:Invent use in 2026?

Several Strip properties rather than one convention centre, and the list changes year to year. Mandalay Bay was reported out of the 2026 rotation with Caesars in. Confirm the current list on the official page before booking a hotel, because the wrong one costs you a shuttle ride twice a day.

AWS re:Invent

How much does re:Invent cost?

$1,299 for the full conference pass if you register by 25 August 2026, and $2,499 after that. Ten or more passes in one transaction takes a further 10 per cent off and stacks with early bird. One pass covers keynotes, sessions, labs, the expo and re:Play.

AWS re:Invent

Are re:Invent sessions recorded?

Keynotes and most breakouts are published afterwards. Workshops, builder sessions and labs are hands-on and are not. That split is the whole argument for attending: build the week around the things that cannot be streamed and watch the keynotes from wherever you are.

AWS re:Invent agenda

When does reserved seating open?

Weeks ahead of the event, and the useful sessions fill within hours of opening. The official agenda carries the date. If you register late and plan to reserve seats on arrival, assume the catalogue you actually wanted is already full.

AWS re:Invent agenda

How many people attend re:Invent?

The official 2026 page leads on more than 60,000 attendees, and independent recaps repeat the same number as an AWS expectation rather than an audited count. The agenda lists over 2,000 sessions, which is more than any one person can meaningfully navigate without a plan.

AWS re:Invent

Is re:Invent worth it if I do not use AWS?

No. It is a customer and partner event rather than a neutral industry conference, and the value is concentrated in the training, the labs and the partner ecosystem. If you do not build on or sell around AWS, the week is expensive noise.
